Wednesday, November 28th, Day Eighty-Five, To Do List
Evening
If you would like to join me in this journey from the beginning, please start with Day One.
I just got off the phone with the Colorado Crisis Line. I am not suicidal or depressed. However, I am overwhelmed and stressed. I found out this evening that my father passed today. My mind started racing with a zillion things I need to do in the next 48 hours. The helper on the line recommended writing a to do list.

First, I need to decide when to leave for Utah to be with my family there. My husband wanted to come with me, but when we started arranging transportation by rail, I quickly became overwhelmed with the logistics of transporting my husband in a wheelchair. He offered to stay home to make things easier for me.

I ordered a shower bench for my husband earlier today and arranged for delivery at the new address. I canceled the order earlier tonight. I just confirmed that the order has been canceled.

We bought a mattress that is supposed to be delivered Thursday, December 6th. I could come back by that date, but I may want to stay a few days. So I may have to re-schedule the mattress delivery date.

Tonight the HOA building manager called me. I told him our move-in date would be later, but I could not tell him exactly when. He wants to know when it will be, so I need to get back with him when I figure that out. Let me see if he has emailed me. It does not look like it. Fortunately, I have his phone number.

The move-out coordinator for this retirement complex said today that I need to let her know our new move-out date.

The movers need to know our move-out date has been changed. We have not confirmed a move appointment with them yet, so that is fortunate.

My mother is likely to forget that we would like her to UPS my vacuum to Colorado. Of course, it will have to be done later than originally planned. I could possibly do it myself while in Utah.

I need to fill my husband’s pill containers before I leave.

I need to fill my own pill containers before I leave.

We still need to get property or liability insurance for our new place. We worked on that today but did not finish up.

We need to see if the title company gets all the utilities transferred into our names. (No.)

We need to make sure all my husband’s therapy appointments will happen at the right location, which will depend on our move-out date.

We need to attend closing and take our drivers licenses.

I need to order airplane tickets. I need to decide what day I am leaving and coming back first. I will also need to checkin online. I hope I do not need to print anything because we still do not have a printer.

I need to recharge my spare external cell phone battery so it is ready in case I need it.

I need to determine how long it takes to get to the airport on Saturday, so I am sure to get there in time for my flight.
|

|
I need to pack the bare necessities I need to take, relying as much as I can on things I already have in Utah.
|
|

I made a list of groceries to buy for my husband before I leave. I can get those ordered tomorrow or the next day.

Alex, our realtor, gave us two more documents to sign, which are in my starred email, so I need to sign those tomorrow with my husband.

I left a message for my step-son tonight but did not hear back. I need to get with him tomorrow and make sure he can look after my husband while I am gone.

I have a psychiatrist appointment tomorrow. I may want to take Lyft rather than drive to reduce stress and fatigue.
