Thursday, January 10th, Day 128, Losing Weight

Three and a Half Pounds Lighter in Weight

 
I am off to a great start with my New Year’s resolution.  I started on Monday with a weight of 127.8 pounds.  My weight is now 124.3.  Now my biggest concern is that my husband is afraid I am going to starve myself.  He says I look great at my current weight.  I am glad he likes the way I look, but I do not feel as comfortable as I do at a lighter weight.  My clothes do not fit as well either.  Let me see how far I can go before he really starts to notice the weight loss.  So far he has merely noticed my change of behavior.
 

A Day At A Time

 
I have had a hard time getting to my writing lately due to the problem I mentioned earlier.  I visited with my counselor today and mentioned my concerns.  She did not have a way of solving them, but she was a sounding board, and I felt I was heard.  I have not shared my concerns with friends back home because I am afraid they would counsel me to give up on my marriage, and that is not what I want to do.  Currently, my husband is as loving as ever.  He has acknowledged how much he needs me, and I have done the same with him.  We want, need, and love each other.  So somehow things are going to work out!  I do not know how just now, but the crisis worker said, “Just take things a day at a time,” and that is what I am doing.
 

First Reward

 
I ordered a nightgown and robe as a first reward, without requiring myself to get a lot of points first.  So far I have three points.  My husband said the nightgown was a gift from him, and he did not want me wearing any more hand-me-down nighties.
 

Friday Afternoon

 

Lunch

 
I am finally able to write today.  My husband is taking a nap.  There are reasons I call him, “Baby.”  We had an awesome lunch with pasture-fed, 90% lean, ground beef; broccoli; cauliflower; yellow onions; and olive oil with curry powder, turmeric, rosemary, oregano, basil, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.  We topped it with a bit of tamari sauce.  It turned out great.  As usual, we ate in the living room on a serving tray off of the same plate.
 

Cronometer

 
I have kept Cronometer solid for four days now and am doing it again for the fifth consecutive day today.  I changed my profile to lose half a pound a week instead of maintaining my weight.  I have a hard time staying in my calorie budget.  Yesterday, I was more than 400 calories over budget.  However, I still lost a tenth of a pound last night.  If I can get closer to being in budget, it would help me lose weight faster.
 

Low Blood Sugar

 
Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and felt like I was going to faint.  I realized the problem was low blood sugar, so I asked my husband to bring me some food.   Since I have fainted before, that is a danger I have to watch out for.  I may have to take my weight loss at a snail pace.  However, I want to make steady progress.
 

New Sheets

 
Yesterday, after counseling, I stepped into Bed, Bath, and Beyond and bought two lovely, extra smooth, 500-thread sets of queen-sized bed sheets.  The first set is plain cream and the second is striped cream with a darker color.  They go with the decor of our condo.  My husband and I put them on the bed this morning and lounged in their luxuriousness.  He said I deserved to have such nice sheets, and that I had earned them.

Nausea and Vomiting

 
My husband has been sick with nausea and vomiting.  I have had trouble getting enough liquid down him to prevent dehydration.  We think the vomiting is past. However, we are still on the look out for it.  The good part of the story is that he has stopped drinking alcohol.
 

Weight

 
My weight is now down to 123.5 pounds, so I lost 4.3 pounds this past week.  My husband may oppose me losing to 110 pounds.  I have been at less than 110 pounds in the fairly recent past and enjoyed it.  I do not think it compromised my health.  However, Cronometer said my BMI was less than 18.5, and therefore I was underweight.  Maybe I can work out to build muscle and get the sleek look I am looking for at a higher weight.  That is definitely worth considering and will be better for me.  Let us see how things go.  Right now I am losing about .3 pounds a day.
